Pedal Bike Our alcohol awareness program allows the student to use goggles that simulate the effects of drugs on our coordination and vision narrowness. (weather and parking lot permitting).

| STEP TWO: THE BEHIND-THE-WHEEL TRAINING
The Behind-the-Wheel (PRACTICAL)of the course is a critical part of the student's training. We give individualized driving instruction with specific objectives, allowing the beginning driver's behind-the-wheel time to be more productive. Each student is limited only by their current abilities and the amount of hours in their driver program. Our policy has always been just one (1) student in the vehicle. We don't allow "piggy backing" one student to another. We want to teach how to create a stress free driving environment with individualized driving instruction. Automatic / Economical / No High Performance Vehicles (all driver education vehicles in the state have dual brakes)
|
 |
 |
|
| Qualified, Trained Instructors Our instructors get more than double the training required by the state.
Specific Lesson Objectives Our instructors do not "cruise" the road aimlessly. Each lesson is filled with challenges and productivity.
Vehicle Awareness A safe driver knows the vehicle they're driving and knows what to do to keep from damaging it.
Intersection Awareness Know where you might get hit from. Over 40% of the crashes that a "good" driver get into happen here. We use a proven non-conventional approach that allows the beginning driver to better understand intersection and the dangers.
Space Cushion Management Controlling space around your vehicle takes a pro-active driver and discipline. These skills do not just happen naturally.

 |
 |
|
Visual Scanning Skills Scanning "outside" the lines to find dangers, separate them and how to compromise hazards.
Hand-to-Hand Steering / Shuffle Steering (9-3 or 8-4). Because of airbag safety and precise steering, we have adopted this well proven and professionally taught as our primary technique when steering. Hand-over-Hand and One-Hand steering still have their place with certain maneuver and are also practiced. The state doesn't care when testing, only the professional instructor in this case.
Evaluations Insights from the instructor include training and evaluations. Evaluations are given on turns, basic control, parking, driving in traffic, turnabouts, student readiness and curve control.
8 (eight) hours Behind-the-Wheel (standard)l We will actually complete the required eight hours behind-the-wheel training, however nothing we do is the "minimum requirement" mindset. (Reg. Tuition of $395.00, includes classroom)
Extended Behind-the-Wheel This should be the "Minimum" Training Package for all beginning drivers. This gives your beinning driver SOLID FOUNDATION along with more CONFIDENCE, making it less eventful for the parent or guardian during their practice times.Includes more parking and interstate training. (Tuition $695.00, incl. Classroom, Standard 8-Hours BTW and an additional 6-Hours BTW)
Optional 12 (twelve) hours Behind-the-Wheel Training We can work on a deeper understanding of vehicle control. Our gradual approach gives the student the time needed to learn how to create the space around the vehicle. Best time to commit to more lessons is during the initial scheduling.
Adaptive Controls We offer a driver education vehicle for those students with some special needs at no additional cost. Call (985) 643-7803 for more information.

| STEP THREE: THE CERTIFICATE OF SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
Upon completion of the driving portion of the course we will prepare the certificate needed to go to the state and apply for either a permit or driver's license (depending on age of applicant).
The classroom instructor, behind-the-wheel trainer, student, parent and driving school owner must all initial and sign the certificate.
Be assured that at Louisiana Driving School, we have always gone beyond the state requirements and will continue to be a leader in our community, in our state and on the national level as well.

| New! Online Practice Written Test Made-up by us, complimenting the Louisiana Study Guide and our Louisiana Specific Study sheet. A current password code is given to each of our students upon successful completion of course.
Additional Behind-The-Wheel Training This option is available to those who want to make sure that they have gained in proficiency. We beleive that even a young adult, beginning driver can possess the defensive driving skills that take them beyond the average driver.
