We do not contract labor. We employ our associates as part-time, working around their availability. This gives us excellent people to work with that can almost pick and choose their number of hours and days of availability. To qualify and train we have very high standards that take many hours. Therefore, we will pay for qualification. We will pay for any training, however only after instructor becomes activiated by the Office of Motor Vehicle and only after you have worked 90 days or 120 student /client hours.

If you're accepted as a canadate for employment to teach/instruct the 6-hour prelicensing class and/or the 38 hour driver education course (or just the behind-the-wheel instruction) then we will start your training immediately, however...

  • Driving School Application
  • Fingerprinting / no reimbursement of any fees
  • State and Federal Background checks / company paid 
  • Reading the policies that govern driving schools, instructors and course topics
  • Signing of understanding rules and regulations / notory fees company paid 
  • Successful completion of required 6-hour prelicensing class or 38 hour driver education course or both / no cost if in-house
  • Application to OMV and fee / annual renewal fees / company paid 
  • If applying to teach either or both of the National Safety Council courses you will have additional training and meet additional  qualifications.

If you're accepted as a canadate for employment for just The National Safety Council's (NSC) Defensive Driving Course then we don't need to go through the Office of Motor Vehicles, unless we are training for both above classes and the NSC.

  • Attend and completed appropriate class
  • 2-day training and 10 minute presentation
  • Application fee / annual renewal fee /company paid 
  • Intitals you to publications from the NSC

If you're applying to be a third-party examiner you will have additional training...

  • may have to go to Baton Rouge for additional training up to 2 days / company paid
  • testing by the OMV
  • Run route with OMV officer

We are always looking for the right persons to be part of our safety advocate team. Our core-instructors have been with us for many years. We also have associates that are currently employed full-time and help out during our peak times. Here are a few positions opening:

  • 3rd Party Testers: We are contracted with the State of Louisiana to administer the road-skills test for class D & E licenses. This candidate would undergo instructor behind-the-wheel training and be trained by a state OMV agent. This candidate would offer the applicant the states test and also offer behind-the-wheel training for adults and teens.
  • Rehabilitation Trainers/Evaluators: This applicant would be trained for behind-the-wheel for able adults and teens; then upon availability would be offered training for students needing training who are being rehabilitated. Additional training for use of adaptive equipment. Applicant may have some occupational therapy background.
  • Behind-The-Wheel: These instructors will be properly trained using information from many reliable resources, i.e.. AAA, Drive Right, NSTA, National Safety Council and The Smith System.
  • Classroom Instructors: Looking for teachers for our driver education course, prelicensing class or National Safety Council DDC-4 & Alive At 25 Defensive Classes.
  • Office Assistance / Counselor: The right canidate will assist customers in the office, phone and internet. Filing, organizing office and assisting with The Driving School Associaiton of the Americas, Inc. They will be trained in basic understanding of safety, driver education and state requirements.
