This 6-Hour Program course includes The National Safety Council's® Defensive Driving Course (DDC 4) and Louisiana Rules of the Road ♦.  A passing score of 80% is required. Must be able to read English or Spanish for DDC-4 portion.

The Traffic Offender Program will give the experienced driver additional tools in sharing the road. In addition to standard road rules and regulations content, NSC’s newly revised DDC 4 5th edition offers a fresh look into contemporary driving issues that impact our behavior and safety on the road way. The 5th edition includes these expanded course topics:

  • Aggressive driving and road rage
  • Fatigue and drowsy driving
  • How driver behavior and mental conditions affect driving
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • The crash impact on passengers
  • How to avoid a collision and case study scenarios
  • Personal driving style evaluation
  • Hazard recognition and collision avoidance
  • Emotional impairment, common driving irritation and “Pet Peeves”
  • The “Fatal Four” causes of a crash
  • Driving skills inventory and assessments
  • Occupant protection laws and graduate driver’s licensing
  • Vehicle malfunctions and maintenance

♦ Louisiana Driving School has developed a study sheet that has assisted many applicants in passing the states written test and is to be used as a tool to educate and re-educate all participants.
